Daisy's poop
 Daisy is starting to have problems related to her tumour. She is constipated,or just having trouble "getting it out".I will buy some high fiber can food at the vet tomorrow. In the mean time, any ideas on what can I feed her (people's food) to help her to poop?

Pumpkin. Plain old canned pumpkin, but not the pie filling kind. Try about 2 tbsp/10 lbs of weight and if that doesn't help, try more.
You can feed this daily to help, it's not harmful in any way. (My dog and one of my cats gets pumpkin daily) If she doesn't like it, try mixing it with plain yogurt and/or canned food. This might be an easier solution than switching her to a high-fibre food (which often uses corn as a filler, and which many animals can't tolerate). Sorry to hear about her tumor, is there any hope for her surgically? Melissa |

Put some olive oil in her food. (Just a teaspoon or two)

Thanks for the tips.Dogmelissa;Daisy already went tru 2 operation for tumours in the last months, last one at her anal gland. It came back after barely 3 months. It would now take another operation, chimio and radio wich would cost between $5000.00 / $7000.00.Unfortunatly,I don't have that kind of money, after all the vet care from the past year....

Frenchy: very sorry to hear that your poor littly doggie has been through so much. My aunt had a german shepard who had colon cancer...Everyone loved him, and as kids, we used to ride him around their farm like a horse. After 2 surgeries where the tumor came back, they finally had him euthanized. He was in pain and had a tumor the size of a grapefruit in his rectum. Poor guy.
I hope your beautiful Daisy doesn't suffer too much at the end, but I'm sure she's already earned her path across the rainbow bridge. Good luck. *hugs* Melissa |
