GERTIE the MISSING Puggle HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!

EDIT:
Gertie the Puggle HAS BEEN FOUND!!!
We got a call from some concerned citizens who were also out searching for her. She had apparently been hiding in an alley at Granville & 7th, with a severely broken right hind leg. She may have been hit by a car. But her owners have her back, and are with her at the animal hospital right now. She's gonna be okay. Thank you all for your concern!

Great news! Speedy recovery wee one

For those who don't know the area: the distance between where she went missing & where she was found is approx 3 kms with 3 major roads inbetween.

Thank you!!

You guys are awesome - thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. Miss Gertie-Lou is recovering from her operation last night. It was touch'n'go for a while there. We weren't sure if she was going to have to have her leg amputated. Her owners, overjoyed at having found her, were now faced with some very tough medical decisions to make.

But after Gertie responded positively to some nerve tests yesterday, the doctors determined they would be able to save her injured hind leg after all. The surgery was performed last night, and so far, so good. She's at the surgery centre for another day, and she will be home with her family tomorrow night for a good long bout of recovery. Many thanks to the kind staff of doctors, nurses and surgeons at the Canada West Emergency Centre for their incredible kindness and skill.

And a very special thank you to all of those people who anonymously donated to the Save Gertie fund at Canada West. Her family is overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from across the Pets.ca website, Craigslist, facebook, Livejournal - and the people in the Vancouver neighborhoods who saw and responded to the flyers.

Mike & Kristen are so happy - thank you all!!!
