Oh my goodness, how did it get to be the 31st already?!?
OK, here is my "Marty Feldman eyes" dog. The first picture is from a full two months after I adopted her last fall. Even after two months of proper nutrition, you can see her hip bones sticking out, and she has skin issues, including no hair on one ear or around her nose/mouth/eyes. The second picture is from last week (taken 3 months after picture #1)-- she is finally starting to look like a Japanese Chin. Looks obese but it's the "fwuffy-wuffy" Chin coat. She's only 2.5 kg. She's blind so she has a kind of funky, "glazed over" look but most of my dogs are blind or have only one working eye so she fits in well over here and can hold her own. |

...and one more.
This one was from the same breeder as the Chin above (went bankrupt, let go 300 dogs). The first picture is from September-ish. Second picture is from last week. This breeder kept his dogs in large pens, with maybe 20 dogs in each. It gave the dogs good social skills (seven of mine are from breeders and most have no social skills whatsoever with other dogs), but they all had horrible skin issues that spread very rapidly. He still has a way to go (still has skin issues) but at least he is recognizable as a dog now instead of a rat. He is about 1.8 kg dripping wet. |

Tokyo, you make me cry...I am so grateful the you are caring for these wonderful special needs dogs. If you did not, who would. They look like they are really thriving in your care. Thanks for sharing your furbabies with us.

Sorta squeaking in under the wire here, but I just found this and realized it would fit in the thread... Takes a lot less time to do it this way than to do them all individually, too.

Wonderful pics everyone!!
Hazel, I love your pack pics, they're all so beautiful!! I wanted to get this one in before the end of the month, but I just couldn't do it until now. Hazel, I'm just under the wire as well. This was our last day with our beautiful Thorin. I look at these now, and I know it really was time to let him go. He was still just as sweet and lovey as ever, but that spark had gone from his eyes
