Found Bermese - West Island

We have recently rescued a cat that we believe is either a purebred Bermese or very close to it. She is currently being housed by one of our volunteers but she is not a happy camper. She is being kept in a large domain in a home with other cats but she is not happy with all the other cats. Obviously she is a princess. Our vet estimates her age to be 5-6 years old. she is in good health and has recently had her teeth cleaned. All our attempts to find her owners have failed. From what I have read about the breed they are supposed to be very friendly, well all Mocha does is growl and bite and I am sure that is because of the situation she is in. The lady who originally found her wandering in a parking lot for 4 days told us that she could pick her up and pet her. Well right now we don't dare. We would love to get her either adopted or fostered to a more appropriate home with no other cats. Do you have any suggestions? Is there a group in our area that can help.

Hello, you can try: www.cascaorg.com
They are a good group with volunteers in the West Island, etc.

Found Bermese

I do belong to a rescue group called Steri-Animal. What we need is to find either a foster home or someone to adopt mocha so she can be happy again. We are planning to bring her to the vet again so we can see if she is micro-chiped.

Have you contacted the local vets where she was found? If she had recent dental work, then somebody may recognize her.

Good luck.

Burmese Lost

I have called all the vets in the area. No Luck. I have also contacte the Burmese catteries and they will help me either locate her owner or find her a new home.

Found Burmese

Good News we have found a new home for Mocha. We delivered her today and she just calmly walked out of her carrier and started to investigate her new home. It was if she new she was home.

A great ending to a story that could have been tragic if you had not intervened! Thank you for the update.

Bless you for caring as you did.
