I know I shot from the hip on this one.... I should have been less emotional, but you know what??? I was just plain angry. So I wrote and I sent.... here is a copy (please don't over critize me.... I'll try and be more fact based next time!!! )
Pitbulls are not the problem, irresponsible ownership, and no appropriate legislation to deal with animal abuse, dog fighting or puppymills is. It is quite amusing to watch the Liberals always try and take the easy way out, then watching costs explode, and the Liberals trying to lie there way out of yet another scandle. Yes there are bad Pitbulls, as there are Bad dogs of every breed imaginable (even a weiner dog breed has 3 "kills" to it's name). If you actually care to look at the stats in Winnipeg, and KW you'll see Pitbull bites decreased, but on a whole dog bites did not. If you arrogant, media hounding, spineless wooses would actually do your research, instead of firing off whatever nonsense you think would actually help get you re-elected, maybe you could actually do some good. For the time being untill honesty, integrety and hard working is re-established into politics, I'll be voting for those who cause the least damage, and kill the least amount of puppies... I'm afraid that won't be the Liberal party. Sincerely Here is a list of websites to view, if you'd like to see the other sides opinion I encourage you to do so: http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.htlm - See if you can pick which dog is a Pit out of the 25 shown. http://www.cdc.gov/ncipc/duip/dogbites.htm - Dog bites from 1979-1996 http://www.akc.org/breeds/recbreeds/amstaff.cfm AKC- Breed standard http://www.geocities.com/barleesange...sresponse.html - Rescue group for Pits http://www.barlees.org/cgi-bin/index.php - Rescue http://www.ckc.ca/default-refresh.asp - Canadian Kennel Club views on BSL http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/p...animal/bits.asp - Major dog bites, break down of breeds www.doglegislationcouncilcanada.org. |

I sent him a copy of the New N.B. Legislation
suggesting that he look at this as useful, intelligent, pro-active laws & Forget about Bryant, Kit/Wat & other draconian zones.
It has a better chance of doing what it's Supposed to do, &..people won't hate your guts for passing it. |
