Dog Vomiting....Food not Yellow liquid

My husband gave my St. Bernard Great Pyr cross a ham bone
after Thanksgiving. He meant to let her eat the meat that was
still on it but let her have it too long and she ate part of the bone.
She had fairly normal BM's and Urination for 2 days after but now
she has been vomiting her food. She is still going to the
bathroom normally. She doesn't seem in pain she isn't low energy
compared to normal. If this were my child I would take her off her
food and put her on clear liqiuds for a few hours....So I only gave
her water this morning and am now going to give her 1/4 of the
food I usually give her (an hour after the water which she kept
down).

Does this seem like a safe plan?

Thank you.

Sasha

When my dogs go through a vomitting spout, I prepare brown rice and lean ground beef for them. Be sure to cook the beef well and drain all the fat then mix it with the cooked brown rice.
It's very gentle on their tummys... and if my guys don't stop vomiting after that (they always stop) i take them to the vets.
