Very sick 4 month old oriental kitten
Hi there.
I'm in a state of despair. I have 2 gorgeous pedigree siamese neuters. I recently acquired a beautiful oriental. She has been I'll since the day I got her, started with sniffles, snotty nose. Quickly deteriorated into mucky eyes, nose, fever, heavy discharge from ears, a blocked ear drum, vertigo! The kitten has been on entry level anti-biotics and most recently the quinine class! She is well for 3 or so days then I'll again?? Breeder insists FIV and leukemia tests for both kitten's parents are negative... What do I do? Keep giving courses of anti-biotics and accept I was given a sick kitten or make a tough choice. She's divine an beautiful but costing me. Fortune and is in pain... My so ease are 100% healthy.... Have you taken the kitten to a vet to confirm what you are dealing with?

Sounds like she may have an upper respiratory infection (URI), which is usually virus based (herpes or calicivirus). Is she eating okay? Cats with stuffed up noses tend to go off their food because they can't smell. It's very important that she eat, so feed her the stinkiest food you can find (fish based is often the strongest smelling). You could also go in the bathroom with her while you run a hot shower for 10 mins, 3 or 4 times a day. Hopefully the steam will help loosen the gunk in her sinuses. If you can get to a health food store to get some L-lysine powder, add about 500mg twice a day to some wet food. Here is more info for you on treating URI's: http://www.holisticat.com/uri.html
I hope she gets better soon!
