Hard lump on my dog's tail
My 4 years old Male dog, George strated to grow this very hard about 1/2 inches lump on this tail. We took him to our vet today and she told us that she wants to do a surgery to remove the lump... She didn't know what it was and told us it might be some sort of cancer or cyst???
My husband & I came back home just holding on to our little Geroge and I started to cry.... I hope this is really nothing, I am trying to fnid some information on web but no luck. SaraGeorge |

for got to mention that, the lump doesn't bother him at all. He lets my little puppy to chase and nip at his tail. George is eating good, playing fine and no major changes.

My Shepherd Pepper had a lump on her tail too. It was a round ball of a lump near the end of her tail. I was going to take her to the vet until a gal at work mentioned it happened to her grandfathers dog & he just left it & it eventually went away. So we did leave it & yes, after a period of time - about 3-4 weeks it finally did go away. Looked gross but it did heal on it's own. I'm not telling you not to get surgery but just to let you know that dogs can get lumps and it may not be serious at all!
Good luck!

Not sure but I don't see why not. How long has it been there for? Does it bother your dog in any way?

George seems fine with it, I think we are going to take the lump out and do a biopsy. He eating normal (well.. he is a picky eater), playing with other dogs at the park and even let our puppy Sara to chase his tail.
George had this hard lump for almost 2 months now. |
