Shaking & Drooling

Hello,

I am new to this site, I hope you can help me.

My yellow lab has a problem, about twice a month he starts to drool (like a water fountain) and he has an odd oder. Sometimes his whole body trembles also, like when you are very cold.
Can you tell me what this is?
He is 11 years old, and otherwise in good health.
