Question 5 year old dog pooping on floor

I have a 5 year old White Sheperd that I adopted from the local SPCA in my town; I was told that she was previously owned by some quite abusive people so she has some odd behavioral characteristics.

She has recently started pooping and peeing on the middle of the living room floor (which is now happening almost every night) and I am wondering if anyone is dealing with or has dealt with this. I am open to any suggestions of how to prevent this from happening.

Thank you!

Welcome ! Do you use a crate at all? How long have you had her? What are you feeding your girl?

Yes, a little more background is definitely needed. If she is new to you and has recently seen a Vet for a thorough health check then I would probably offer you some suggestions on behaviour and training. But if this issomething which has come out of nowhere I would suggest taking a urine and faecal sample to the Vet for analysis and having a blood panel done to rule out any underlying medical condition.
