Questions regarding unspayed female cats

If an unspayed female cat (approximately 2 years old) is adopted into a multi-cat household of all neutered males, will there be behavioural issues? i.e. neutered males might try mating? Spraying?

Is it true that an unspayed female is in heat all the time when not pregnant?

The cat in question is a stray that was found last fall. The "owners" got her shots done but did not have her spayed. I asked if they had the vet check when the cat went in for shots but the owners said no they didn't. According to them the cat has NEVER been in heat while with them and that's been around 8 months and the cat is approx. 2 years old.

This is very peculiar to me....because the owner says that the cat is very affectionate and can't get enough affection, sometimes sits by the door to try an escape, and trills like the sound of a pigeon....hmmmmm aren't these all signs of heat

Pretty much ya!!! She will attract all kinds of males to your house too and do ANYTHING to get out to see them!!! The other males (outside) will spray and hang around FOREVER!!!!! Get her spayed!!
I have heard of females jumping through second story windows ( screen) to get out side to "satisfy herself"

Yes, there will usually be trouble. Intact and spay/neutered animals don't mix very well, particularly cats. Even neutered males may try to mount a female in heat and there could be spraying, fighting or other undesirable behaviors.

Not all the time, but usually (but not always) most of the time, on and off. It varies.

All cats are different, but in general, females in heat will howl and if stroked just above the tail, they will crouch down with their butts in the air, while making "mrrp mrrp" sounds.

It's very possible that this cat was already spayed before being found.
