Just Nuetered male cat refuses to rest
I picked my male cat Khai Lan up from the vet this morning after an overnight neutering. The vet told me to keep him quiet and make sure that he just rests for a few days. The problem is i can't get him to rest. He has been wandering around the apartment non stop meowing constantly. I cant get him to settle down and rest. Is he gonna be ok?

It is normal for pets to be slightly disoriented after a surgery. I wouldn't be too concered about your kitty wandering around, just try to prevent him from running, jumping or doing anything strenuous. Neutering is a minor surgery and he should be alright by tomorrow. However if you still have concerns give you vet clinic a call and they should be able to ease your fears.

Try to keep him from jumping on counters etc.. Maybe put him in a room on his own to ensure he stays confined and calm.
Is there anything that he is doing that is out of character? Also - make sure he does not chew on his stitches. I have 6 cats. 5 out of 6 bounced back almost immediately. My siamese was rather quiet but nothing alarming. |

Some cats have that reaction to anesthetic. Of all the males I have had done probably three of them reacted like that. A couple of the girls did too. They will eventually settle and get their rest. Just seems like they have to get it out of their system. If you are really concerned give your vet a quick call.
As the others said, keep him as quiet as possible with no jumping. I'm sure he will be good.
