Never Cry Wolf was my brother's all-time favorite when he was younger...I remember him reading it over and over again. I just picked up a copy for my younger son and will dive in as soon as he's done.

Do you have suggestions for any other of his books, Noah?

"And No Birds Sang," Farley Mowat's book of personal experiences in World War II, is one of the great anti-war books of all time, as well as one of the funniest.

Great book, very readable. I've read it about half a dozen times.

"Walk Well My Brother," a short story, was later turned into the wonderful, beautifully filmed movie: "The Snow Walker." You'll cry!!!

Finished Never Cry Wolf last week. What a wonderful book and a wonderful story-teller!

Just started that one a few nights ago and am enjoying it immensely.

Rick, those will be the next two on my list, thanks for the suggestions. I can't believe I never read any of Mowat's books before .

Gail, how did you like Owls in the family. I hear it is for children, but heard of adults reading it as well in the past.

That was the name of the other Farley Mowatt book I read! (Didn't want to mention it until I remembered what it was called) In one way it is interesting. It's a slightly fictionalized account of Farley's finding/stealing two Great horned owlets as a boy and raising them, leading to some hilarious situations, and some sad ones as well. The ending is sad, as is inevitable when someone without proper knowledge tries to take a wild animal and make a pet out of it. Worth reading, Remember it happened in the sixties before there were laws forbidding this.

It was such a long time ago that I read it, but I seem to recall enjoying it as a child of about 10/11 I remember the age because that one year I was in a split grade in school and the other grade (the one I wasn't in) was reading it in class.
