It would sure be nice to read posts with proper grammar and spelling. It really makes me wonder what type of literacy Canada really has. If you are that lazy not to double check what you are typing, then maybe you should rethink putting posts on a public forum.

Catt 31!

Conversational writing differs from a thesis or even grade 4 composition.

Even if people have trouble with their spelling or grammer, they are still asking and answering questions. They are helping others. It is neither kind nor productive in any way to make the comments you made.

This is not at all the place to raz people about their writing skills.

This is a pet site. Feel free to act snobbish on boards related to writing.

reported post

Hello,

Until a few minutes ago I was not a member of this forum. However, I just received a message that my post, in this thread, has been reported to the moderators by ileany.

This has happened to me on numerous occassions, and I have contacted the folks who run the site by e-mail several times. I have never received a reply.

Why am I getting messages that my posts have been reported, when I was not, up until just now, a member of this community?

I'm sorry to impose on your thread here, but this is extremely frustrating.

Thank you.

As for the composition of posts, if I'm looking for some help, it would be nice to know I'm getting an intelligent answer. I think my Grade 2 students could compose a post that has better grammar and spelling than some on here. I'm not dissing anyone for that, but just put a little effort into it....it won't kill you to take a few minutes to check your writing before you submit it. Just a thought!!! Sorry for offending those bad spellers out there!

Same here. I don't belong to this forum either, but somehow I am a moderator! I just received this email:

ileany ( mailto:ileany@sympatico.ca ) has reported this post:

This is part of this thread:
kitty soiling expensive furniture

This is the reason that the user gave:
Hi could you please ask this member if she has no idea as to how to answer a post nicely?.
If not i do not need any advice from her.
thankyou ..

I am quite offended now. How do you know I am female?? That is an ignorant assumption. Go ahead and tattle on me, it seems to be the intellect level you occupy. Good day!
P.S. If I were you, I'd ask for your money back from Hooked on Phonics because it DIDN'T work for you!!
