ok, this vet is gonna do more tests, he said something about he thinks he has a systemic disease... no clue what that means. He berated me for using a flea coller, and interupted me when I tried to tell him the backstory of the eye problem. I am scared this vet is just about the money. He spent more time talking to a drug rep that came in than he did talking to me about my cat that for all i know may be dieing and that it's all my fault for not knowing what normal people dont know... I think people would take there pets to vets more often if it wasent for the attitude that we should already know this stuff. The other vet didn't know what the problem was how am I supposed to? He just kept going on about... "when did he start losing weight?" and i explained to him over and over that he has been skinny since we got him. I think he just doesnt belive me.

Hang in there Veleda, it's definitely not your fault. It sounds as though you did everything you could have to keep him safe and healthy. Sometimes things just happen that are beyond your control.

Even though that doctor had a bad attitude, I hope he finds what's going on with the little guy.

So, once we got to the vet he said that his blood count was WAY down like it was supposed to be 40 and it was 20. They did the test for feline lukemea and the other one but both were negative He said that he was anemic, and it just happend to be showing up in his eyes. gave us tetracylene and predgnazone(sp) and more eye drops. he said that it hopefully will get better... we are taking him back next tuesday. I hope the follow up doesnt cost as much as the first one But I love my kitty and at least we know what is wrong.

Maybe with that extra info, Dr. Lee will be able to suggest something more.

He is such a good vet .

I've been following your struggles and am so happy for you that you have found someone that seems to know what they are doing.
I'll look forward to hearing more and am hoping your kitty gets better soon.

Long after update...

I wish I could say that all got better and Loki is a healthy kitty now... but the truth is a lot worse.
We took him in for check ups every 2 weeks and when we went in the vet noticed that he seemed to have "growths" in is stomach... he had gotten extreemly skinny even after giving him apitite stimulates. They did some tests and thought that he may have a tumor and that might be what was causeing everything so we schedualed a surgery. All of Loki's digestion system had tumors on or in it, He was put to sleep on the table. I was depressed for months I just figured I should update this so that anyone experiencing similar symptoms with their kitty will take this seriously. I wish they had caught it sooner, I miss my cuddly little loki-baby.

Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss, Veleda You did everything you could. Loki was well-loved and knew it. What better thing could you give him than your love?

Loki
