westhighland terrier-skin allergies
My dog suffers every fall with skin allergies. He scratches himself so much that he scratches his skin raw causing sores. What treatments are available to alleviate this problem (homeopathic and/or medications)?

allergies
Hi my Rusty a westie terrier x (now passed on) used to have this same exact problem.
We found that a lot of the cause was #1 the type of food he was eating. We switched him so many times to get the right one and ended up on Hills W/D and it worked like a charm. If you don't want to change the diet food wise try giving your dog a capsul of cod liver oil once a day. This worked so well for Rusty who used to pull clumps off with his teeth and go nuts scratching and whimpering from the itch. Not too much bathing as it can dry the skin more. Wish you much luck Luba
