A "feel good" article
Just after reading about the attack here in Mississauga I pick up the Sun and find a super column about dogs in the Sun by Ted Woloshyn.
Can't find a link for it so I'll type the BSL part out. It's about Grace Hall and her Adopt a Dog, Save a Life program "If there's one thing that aggravates this peacefull woman, it is the government-instituted bans on various breeds of dogs, especially the pit bull. "I'm totally against it, it's not the dog, it's the owner", she said. "Pitbulls are highly intelligent animals, that are the 'nanny dogs' of NewYork city. Many nannies have them because they get along so well with children. Pit bulls love children". If you're trying to wrap your head around that statement, consider this. "First they went after German Shepherds, then Dobermans, then Rotweilers and now pit bulls. Next it will be another breed" Grace said. "it's not right and it's not fair. I have placed many of these dogs and they're all sweeties. No one has complained." In fact Grace Hall has worked with thousand of animals for three decades. She knows of what she speaks and speaks from her heart, not from some misgiuded missive passed down from overzealous politicians. I'm going to thank Ted for the article ted.woloshyn@sunmedia.ca |

A few of the "pibbles" that she found good homes for have ended up being members of the co-op!
Yay Grace.. and finally the Sun gets it right...from what I have heard about Grace, they had better!

Never heard of her or her program before, but I'm OK with her comments.
And it appears that innocent dogs have a friend in Ted Woloshyn |

Grace Hall has been around for yonkers. We adopted one of our Bassetts through her about 15 years ago. At that time she held down a full time job and arranged for many dogs to be transferred from shelters to save them from being pts. I have some literature on her, I'll fish it out, she did win an award some years ago for the work she does. Like I said, I'll fish for it.

it's amazing that we /they can find good material about our dogs if so inclined. From what i understand over 80% of the submissions to the committee that approved 132 had this kind of material One more hero, I remember reading about a decorated dog from WW1, his name was Sarge but can't find any info on him. |

Found it - Grace Hall was awarded the Ontario Medal of Good Citizenship in 1990. There are no links for it, as it was pre-internet days.
