Poor Pugsley isn't feeling well
Before anyone even thinks to suggest it - yes, I have already spoken with our veterinary office.
Poor Pugsley doesn't seem to be feeling well today. He was fine yesterday, we went for a 30-minute romp at the dog park, then hung out at my daughter's soccer game before coming home. Before bed he had a couple really loose stools, he was even walking around kind of funny - hubby said he looked like a rabbit - while pooping. Twice during the night he wanted out to poop - once was a really LOUD event, with very little production. He's had several runny / watery stool today as well. He's drinking, friendly still, a little quiet but far from lethargic. He wasn't interested in the chicken neck I offered him, but did eat a couple pieces of dehydrated chicken treats. A call to the vet has suggested a 'bland diet' - boiled rice with either chicken or hamburger. So I boiled up a little bit of rice (they didn't say how much to offer him, so I started with just a small amount), and mixed a bit of dehydrated chicken in with that, and about 4 pieces of his kibble for the scent. He ate that up without a second thought. The vet said to just offer the bland diet for a few days, and to call if he isn't feeling better by Saturday. I just hate to see him under the weather Poor pup.

This is almost a "normal" condition at my house
It's probably just a gastro , he will be better in a few days. |

He's outside for now - resting on his blanket in the sun, with two water bowls and a few toys with him. He's got access to the yard, and to his little dog house (home-made thingy) if he wants, and I go out as often as I can too, to give him some loving and play.
He can see inside, but he's already pooped on the carpet once - and while his regular poop isn't that bad to clean up from inside, today's stuff was NASTY. I hate to keep him outside But I have three young kids who do not need to get first access to sick doggy poop if I don't see it first to clean it up. Please, don't worry - he's not going to be out there all night or anything.

We know you won't leave your guy out there all night. I can understand keeping him there for now though.
Do you think he got into something in the park? Do dogs get stomach viruses? The bland diet should do the trick. That's always a good idea with tummy issues.

I didn't notice him getting into anything at the dog park, but he was eating a lot of clover at the soccer game.
Our vet said that the clover isn't toxic.

Maybe he just ate too much of it. You know, like when you eat a LOT of something yummy. I'm sure the bland food will have him back to himself in a day or two.

Kashi, I can definitely relate... we are going through the same symptoms right now with Jermy.... I have no idea what may have caused this as he didnt get into anything... but these things happen sometimes i guess .
: that Pugsly feels better soon!

I find that with stomach issues like this, it helps to just disregard food for a day. Fasting for the day will give the GI tract time to heal and not have to process anything. Also, what doesn't go in...isn't going to come out. Water is very important though, that should always be available. Bland food can be introduced in small amounts the next day, boiled chicken/beef, rice, cottage cheese, a bit of canned real (not pie filling) pumpkin, or yogurt is good too. I hope Pugsly feels himself soon!

He's more energetic today at least - he's outside again though.
I did see him playing with his ball earlier too ! He is still drinking and peeing fine.

Some improvement is good if he is still not feeling himself.

Yes, some improvement is very good. He's playing so he's got to be feeling better.
