The Passion of the Christ

A great deal of controversy has swirled around this film of course. Mixed reviews.. and mixed reactions.

Though I would really "like" to see it - I am "very" squeamish, and felt it would be too much. Others here likely have the same reason for passing on this film.

For those of you who have seen this movie - was your own experience a positive or negative one?
Would you reccomend it?

I couldn't sit through the entire movie, sorry it wasn't a positive experience for me.

It was a very powerful movie. But if you read in the Bible what Christ went through was a very powerful and awful thing. I think it made you feel the pain of what He went through for us. I have to movie, I could mail it to you. It does have some parts that are hard to take but think what He went through I am sure it was awful to look upon. I think Mel Gibson did a good job showing us the love that Christ must have had for us to go through all those things. I think this is a movie that a young child should not watch. I watched it and was bothered by it but I think we should be bothered by it because it was an awful thing and He did it for us. So I think it is a movie that we should all see once.

I'm kinda "anti-religeous" and have no urge to see it...sorry. I have thought about watching it, but I read the bible as a kid..I know the story. I would rather watch Jesus Christ Superstar.

I'd rather watch an untranslated Japanese or Chinese movie than a latin one. I'm not anti-religion per se but to watch hours of it... no thanks. I know the story, and if I want gore, I can watch Gangs of New York or Saving Private Ryan.
