is this a bed, or what! LOL

So maika's few bed finally arrived today, her very first! in the bedroom she has a bunch of sherpa squares piled up with a soft blanket on top, and in the livingroom we just put a towel down on the floor for her. we noticed she always laid on that towel, curling up into a little ball on it... so we finally ordered her something special, worthy of our little peanut. (before you shed a tear for dakotah, remember this is the dog that haaates any soft surface and is miserable unless on a cold hard floor, LOL)! we got it from: http://www.mammothoutlet.com/ and got the Large Dog Bed model.

PS: that butt-ugly old chair is going in the dump tomorrow morning!! and maika's bed goes in the corner. finally!

Here is the little princess...

big brother is not jealous at all, on the contrary!

oooohhhhhhhhh this is sooo comfy...

see? all super cushiony...

yep. i think she really likes this...

funny story... i picked that chair up at the salvation army 8 years ago as a "project". it's very solid and actually quite comfortable, but it badly needs to be upholstered and the wood stripped, sanded, varnished. i got the wood stripping tools and never touched it since, LOL! and then dakotah had a nibble on the front legs when he was a puppy, maika did the same, what can you do with chewed wood? so it's beyond repair at this point... sad, cuz it would have looked really nice all "redone". that thing weighs a ton!

if anyone wants the old thing... LOL!

took about a week? or was it 10 days? time goes by so fast... if you order from the canadian website on a weekday, they ship the next day and it's 5 to 10 business days. they fedexed the bed so it was fast (free shipping), totally worth it! when we move and have a bigger bedroom, we're getting this one: http://www.mammothoutlet.com/Dog-fur...gner-couch.htm is it awesome, or what

if you order anything, make sure to select the Canadian store... the prices are a bit more (of course ) but you'll get your order much faster. it's VERY well made and i'm impressed! and i'll buy another one from them, that's for sure!

Nice! I was looking at that site. All the local stores have beds that are at least $200 for Roscos size.

$129 for that isnt bad at all!
http://www.mammothoutlet.com/Dog-fur...uch-Canada.htm

And you can choose between Fiber fill or 6" Ortho foam. oh the choices!

michelle they have more affordable ones i got this one cuz it's sooo solid and guaranteed to last many years. my dogsitter got a cheap one for his pitbull (if you consider $40 at Walmart cheap) but the filling keeps getting flat and he has to replace it, the cover is worn through and has to be replaced... the bed is less than 2 years old. i can't imagine this super-bed to not last for years! man it's well-made... what they say here is true: http://www.mammothoutlet.com/xl.htm

so how about that kraft-dinner eh? LOL

hmm, interesting.

Looking at the couch beds, they have the xlarge 50x40, but further down they have a 60x36. I'm not sure if these are the same type of bed or not

Technodoll, re: your crappy chair. I have become a self educated pro at repairing dog damaged woodwork and furniture. With a bit of work and some new upholstry that chair would be awesome. Get some decent wood filler (not regular wood putty as it tends to stay soft when it dries, there are some very good epoxy wood putties that harden up well). With a razor knife or a very sharp chisle, clean up the rough sections being sure to get all the splintered wood out. Fill the gouges with filler in thin layers. When you get to the surface height, use some sandpaper to contour the filler to the shape of the piece. Slap a finish on it and you're ready to go (paint or a dark stain ... light stains will not hide the filler).

Re: doggy bed. It looks more comfortable than my own bed. She's looking pretty comfy on it.

sorry for the little threadjack techno!

ok, so here's his bed...my mother in law was throwing out a couch...so I took the foam from 2 of the couch pillows (FREE!! WOOHOO) then sowed a pouch for them (with old material I had lying around), the made the cover with a zipper (so you can remove it and wash it) with some material I bought -- when you go to the material store, they always have a bin with pre-cut material on mega sale....If I had found a piece I liked, it would have cost me even less than 15$$...

anyway, here it is :

even though he doesn't always lie on it 'correctly'
