Issue for Debate
Hello, My friends and I are debating an issue I was just wondering if anyone can share their thoughts and opinons on the matter. We are wondering if a dog has less puppies with each pregnancy? For example if a dog has 6 puppies in her first pregnancy will she have less then 6 in her second pregnancy. Reason for debate is my friends dog is pregnant for the second time and she had 7 puppies the first time so my friend believes that she will have less this time and I believe that is not necessary true.

Personally, I've never heard of such a thing. I'm not a breeder, so I can't say with certainty, but a dog can have any number of pups from any breeding.
Your friend should spay her dog, instead of allowing it to breed more unwanted puppies that'll just end up in shelters or worse. Be the voice of reason for your friend. Talk them into spaying their poor dog.

No debate here.
Have the puppy factory surgically removed and you and your friend will reclaim precious time debating more important issues such as animal rescue or volunteering at your local shelter.

How late into a pregnancy can you get an animal spayed?

Well in the debate about dogs having less pups with each pregnancy. You can tell your friend that you win. Dogs will vary each time. You could have one pup in the first litter and ten in the second. Depends where she was in her cycle when she bred, and how many eggs she dropped.

how many pups - second litter
There is no rule regarding how many pups a dog will have in the second litter.
She could have 1 or 10 in the first and 12 in the second. I'd suggest getting an ultrasound if she wants to know |
