frustrated with biting
We recently purchased a Golden Retreiver, Molly. She is 10 weeks old, and is learning very rapidly how to sit, shake-a-paw, and is almost completely house broken (knock on wood!).
The problem we are having is she is very nippy. It seems to start playfully, but she doesn't know when to stop. We have tried tapping her on the nose when she does it, but it doesn't work. We are also worried because the bigger she gets, the harder she can bite! It has gotten to the point that when she gets out of control, we put her in her crate for a "time-out" for about 5 minutes. Now when we go to work, she doesn't want to go into the crate, whereas before she would go inside. I am don't want her to be afarid of the crate, or feel she is being punished by going in there. I need help!! I don't want my puppy to become ruler of the house, or overly aggressive. Any suggestions? |
