Waterproof collars by LL Bean

My green waterproof collar arrived yesterday and I tried it on Amber. It's too early to give a rating so I'll wait until we she goes in the water and gets really, really wet.

It is very well made - very sturdy and, while I'm not a fan of buckles, this one does do up very nicely and is sturdy enough that it won't fall open and off.

I put it on Amber for a leash walk and I did notice that it is a bit fussy getting the leash hooked onto the o-ring part but given that they are for field dogs, using the collar for leash walks probably isn't what they are meant for!

We'll be out in the woods today where Amber will go into a lake and into a slough so this will be a good test for the collar.

Awesome! Keep us posted.

I would like to order one for Willow, and my sister would like one for their lab. Did you get the engraving? I wonder how that looks.

Three paws up for the dog collar - so far! Amber was in the water - and the mud today and the collar came off absolutely clean! Yahooooo....
Her fur didn't get matted under the collar either but it was only on for about 3hours total but there was no mud or debris under the collar so that's a definite plus!

This has only been one day's wear so there's no indication of how well the collar will wear over time but so far I'm very impressed! I'm going to order one for Bobby too - even though he doesn't get in the water and mud like Amber does, he does get wet in the rain and washing and drying his collar all the time is a pain.

The only thing holding me back from rating 5 paws is because I don't know how well the collar will wear..

Got mine today.

I ordered the green which looks great on Willow, my sister ordered the orange for her chocolate lab. I got them both engraved, they put a gold plate with the engraving on it. We both have dogs that love to swim, and I want to do dock diving with Willow, so these collars are perfect.

Thanks so much for telling us about them.

Glad you like them too! I've been using mine on Amber - my swimming mud puppy (she loves mud and water)... and the collar is standing up well.

The engraving that they do on the collar, is it a medallion or a plaque that lays flat along the collar. Think we will get one for Iggy, he is the only one that likes to swim, the others just paddle. Also is the orange a bright orange like hunters wear, Iggy looks wolfish.

It lays flat on the collar and the orange is very bright.

Thanks Byrd. One other thing, can you have contact details engraved on there, I was looking on the site yesterday and didn't see any mention of that.
