Those are my favorite poppies. I love the reds, but the salmon pink ones are special to me.
The geranium I've had for at least 20 years. Tough tough plant, but it doesn't bloom for a long time. I have some that bloom all season, but not that beautiful blue colour. The red lily is Black Princess. I love that lily too. I have a hard time with red lilies and it's the only one I've managed not to kill. I haven't taken many pond pics this year yet. I'll try to get some tomorrow. Cindy |

Oh yes I adore the hardy geraniums. I have 4 types but they are all pinkish. I'd love to have a more pure purple like what you have. All 4 were given to me by another gardener so I don't know their names. They were just tossed in a plastic bag and I didn't know what I was planting. One I thought was dead on arrival ended up getting tossed almost underneath the front porch, where it wasn't planted or watered and just sat on the surface of dead ground cover foliage. I "discovered" it this spring very much alive and full of growth. It was transplanted and is now blooming. Talk about hardy!!
Most will rebloom if the flowering stalks and foliage is cut back after the first flush of blooms. It regrows quickly.

WOW WOW WOW!! Just gorgeous!!!
your geranium is beautiful. I grew some but mine never looked like yours. I finally pulled mine out though they still pop up in different places. Your pond.......is absolutely fabulous! That lily is a beautiful colour..How deep is it? Do u keep your lily in it over winter? Did u use a liner? How large is your pond? Mine is just a tiny thing only 4 x 6 x 18" deep. But at least I have the sound of water. I wish I could have a larger pond. Maybe some day. Debbie

It's a very old variety of geranium. The old Johnsons Blue. I actually prefer a lot of the lower growing all summer blooming types but I have 3 big clumps of that one and it'll be in my garden as long as I have one. That lily is really my favorite. I have 3 lilies in the pond and they're all in huge tubs sitting on the pond bottom, 3 feet deep. You could easily grow them or even a lotus in your 18" of water. They are hardy lilies and overwinter in the pond. The pond is appoximatley 18'X12' and it's between 3 and 4 feet deep. It's lined. Absolutely my favorite thing in the whole garden and I would love to have another one in the near future. Cindy |

Cindy, I do have a lily in my pond. I don't get many blooms on it as our summer is cool and short. But they are lovely when it blooms.
My son use to bring it into the house for the winter, then when his back got worse I told him no more lifting that thing. And it survived -40F That was about 5 years ago and it's still alive. I will attached a pic of it. It's not very large, but it's still a water lily bloom in zone 2A LOL Debbie

OMG, zone 2A, how far north are you?
Very pretty lily you have. I love all hardy lilies. I haven't tried any tropicals yet. I understand they're a real challenge to try to overwinter. A bit too expensive as an experiment for now. Cindy |
