new found friend in need

HI,
I came acrossed a puppy the other day who was really skinny (i could clearly see her ribs) and looking like she didnt have a home. I fell in love with her at once and took her home with me. I named her maggie and she looks like a cross between a boxer and a chowchow. She had a slight case of diarrhea, her nose is dry and runny, and her stomach was kinda bloated and she got snappy when people touched it, also she sleeps a lot. She doesnt so much now but im still worried about her. Im helping her put on weight and i plan to keep her as long as she lives. I needed to know what vet care is neccessary now and how soon i should make sure that i get her in. I know i need to check her for worms but i dont want a vet to try to get me to do things for her that aren't that necessary cause i happen to be a broke college student. I couldnt leave her knowing that i could have made her happy. shes one of the smartest, most awesome puppies ive ever come acrossed. i believe she might be around 3 months. Could someone please help me!!

First of all, thank you for rescuing this little one. You should probably get to a vet right away. You never know what kind of parasites she may have. If she was living on her own, you really never know. As for money, ask the vet if they have payment plans. A lot of vets will help you out and I'm sure if you explain the situation on how you found the dog, they might be more willing to help out.

Welcome to the forum. There are so many people here that can help you with your new bundle of joy. We are here if you have any questions. Also, we would love to see pictures when you have some.

We are unable to diagnose your new friend over the internet. Please make a vet appointment and come back and let us know how things are going.
