female cat mounts other female

I have 2 female cats, neither of which are spayed. Recently, when the younger one goes into heat, the older one basically mounts her. I was just wondering what this is about. Thanks

Your cats should be spayed. Is there a reason they are not?

I'm poor. I'm getting them spayed when I get my tax return. I was just curious why she would do this as I have never heard of a cat doing this before.

The mounting behavior should stop after that, and they will be much happier and healthier!
