Puppy Food

hi,

we've had our puppy on mushed up food for a while now...what age can they start having the dry stuff?

that mushy stuff smells awful!

Also, I've recently been hearing about "puppy breath" does anyone know when this is supposed to go away? or when i can start giving her the fresh breath food?

Thanks!

we feed dry food and always have....puppy is eating canidae all life stages right now then will switch to timberwolf organics at around 6-7 months.
as for the skunk breath, well its gone from my pup.....i miss the skunk mouth.

Lettin the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin it back in.

Most of the stuff people worry about ain't gonna happen anyway.

How old is your puppy and what breed?

what is mushed up food ? canned ....

As far as “puppy breath”, IMO normally a dog’s breath is not really suppose to smell unless they have teeth problems, digestive problems or are kept on a food that makes them smell .

I keep my puppy on homemade food and she doesn’t smell at all she did when we got her and was on purina crap .

but there are alot of good kibble brands that u could try

You should start desentisizing her to tooth brushing right away - the sooner the better! Start rubbing your fingers in her mouth & on her gums several times daily. Then start gently rubbing a soft toothbrush on her gums & teeth. If you do this consistently, then it will be a breeze brushing when her grown up teeth come in. Daily teeth brushing is essential!!!!

Further, if you keep the teeth & gums healthy, then she won't develop stinky breath from rotten teeth & gums when she gets older, & this will also prevent periodontal disease, when then can effect the internal organs.

Thanks for the advice guys! we used our fingers to "brush" her teeth tonight. she was pretty good while we were doing so.

by mushed up food, i mean we took dry food and added water to make it mushy. we actually put her on dry food today and she did great.

thanks again!

Glad to hear you're getting her used to "teeth brushing". What kibble are you feeding her now?
