Wow, I wish they had something like that for cats, but I don't think it would be the same. Lots of hissing and such.

I hope you all take pictures because that sounds like a lot of fun.

I went in 2006 but not 2007 - I understand the venue changed. While the Distillery District was okay in 2006, with all of the outdoor booths on a day that turned out to be quite warm, many dogs became overheated and anxious. Many people suggested that it was the "other" dog that go their dog upset - heck with was all the dogs! Not too many dogs were off leash. My dog's groomer had a booth in 2006, but didn't go back in 2007. Was the new location better? I didn't take my Eskie in 2006 - he had just turned 2 and was really a little devil - although as he is about to turn 4 on April 1 I can't say he has changed much. A puppy forever. I did meet a group of Dachshunds though so got my Dachshund fix - and a group of Eskies - you could see them coming from a mile away - every which way but straight.

I'd be happy to facilitate a meeting spot at my place if people are interested. It's a pretty convenient spot for people who need parking.. there are 3 lots around me and parking around Front St. will be insane I would imagine between Woofstock and the Market.

I'm also really close to the subway for those TTC-ing and for anyone bringing dogs, there is a small doggie park behind my condo. It might be easier than meeting at St. James Park... I know from last year it gets pretty busy in there! Anyway, just a thought - I'm about a 5-10 minute walk from where its happening.

Snowdancer I am not sure cause that was the first time I went! I have to admit we did have a really warm day last summer and the doggies were hot! thats why they had the pools set up! Its in the St Lawrence Market area which I have never been either other than the day of this event...looked like there were many very neat shops to look in as well...I was in a booth last yr for most of the day so I didnt have alot of time to wander around...

I will definitely go I have been with Buddy for the last 3 years. He really did not like crowds but he always had fun especially when he got to go in the fountain and play with another mastiff looked like they were going to empty the fountainhttp://www.pets.ca/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=568009
Pet forum for dogs cats and humans - Pets.ca - Reply to Topic with there diving and jumping. Good memory. But there is always lots of water and the parkette has lots of shaded areas. I am hoping to maybe have a new rescue kid by then. I would love to meet some of the crew from pets.ca I will most definitely see Winston I always make the round of rescues set up.We have to set up a meeting place maybe the fountain area it is shady could be a possibility.

 hazel doesn't have access to the bus anymore--it was the Pack's friend's bus...and Buddy sold it...

Besides, it only seats 14 and us and Frency and LP would more than fill it up!

Images flying through hazel's brain of trying to get 8 dogs past the border stop!

Woofstock does sound like fun, though. Wish we could make the trip...

Thanks, Winston. Guess I could have my husband go park the car on Yonge St. somewhere and let El and me by the market. I did hear the location was better last year. Eskies are "funny"?? so not sure best place for El to go, but I did meet a lady who took her Eskie in 2006 because he had just turned 3 and therefore an "adult" by Eskie standards! I think she was starting to regret that. El is a good boy, and well behaved in a controlled environment - but most other white dogs HATE him, for actually no reason. He doesn't even get to give the first bark/growl anything - all he does is prance like the little boy toy he is. He would love the water though - no chance this guy is ever getting a little swimming pool. His idea of fun would be to tip it over, roll in the water, get filthy and then demand I refill it. He has gone swimming though when we are away and the lady who boards him takes the dogs to the ravine - and he is one muddy and happy guy afterwards. My husband still can't believe that Ellie swims - or that he would swim - one "funny" dog.

For those coming to Woofstock dont forget you can help out by joining in the walkathon with your pooch! The nice part about the pledge forms is that you can collect donations on behalf of your preferred rescue and the money goes directly to them..OR you can collect pledges and then that money is divided up between all of the rescues! If anyone needs any info just let me know!

I can say first hand that this event helps ALOT of organizations and at a time of year when it is really needed for most! It also is a great way to advertise your rescue group, or your business! Just think of how many pets we can help out!

I am looking forward to meeting all of you than can go in person!!

For you Torontonians, will the Waterfront Blues Festival be held anywhere near Woofstock? I'm trying to plan my itinerary .

Yeh, it's the same weekend as Woofstock. I was just wondering if both locations were nearby each other? I'm still trying to decide if I'll be driving down or taking the train.

LP- the festival is a bit farther east, but you could just take the streetcar straight along queen st. or if driving go right along lakeshore.
