My chichuhua
I have a question, I have a 2 year old miniature Chihuahua
good health but for the last 2 days she has not been eating as much, sleepy, or she will just lay on her blanket, no diarrehea, a little decreased thrist. We had company over the weekend and I didn't know if Peanut was just very tired from that. Her nose is cold but dry. She still will follow me from room to room. |

Maybe she's just tuckered out from all the extra attention. If she has to be coaxed to eat and drink, I would take her to the vet. Loss of appetite can be a red flag.
Is it very hot where you are? Could it be the heat? |

I'd take her in for an exam & blood work to be sure , Chihuahua's are prone to low blood sugar (symptoms can include not eating, excessive sleepyness/tire easily) which in such tiny dogs can be fatal.

I agree with Growler. Toy dogs such as yours can have serious health risks just from being "off food" or not getting enough water. They should be eating regularly, and many toy owners feed their dogs three meals a day just to insure they do not get hypoglycemic. This condition can be fatal if left untreated, so its important that you recognize it if it should occur. Illness in a toy breed can be a very serious emergency, when the same in a bigger dog is usually tolerated.
As a previous "only" large breed owner, I got a huge education when becoming a Miniature Pinscher owner. I am running to the vet more often than not, as I know firsthand how quickly a little dog can go downhill. I lost one even though I was quick to get him veterinary care. Apparantly though, I wasn't quick enough. If you aren't familiar with what the risks are for your toy dog, please read articles regarding hypoglycemia so that you can be prepared and act quickly for your dog. I hope she is feeling better. http://www.dog-health-guide.org/caninehypoglycemia.html
