Cat torturer nets man jail time: today's rag
Just read a story about a Goderich Ont. guy who was sent to jail for 6 whole months (whoopdey do....not near long enough, but, hey, we all know the laws are in bad need of updating so the punishment actually fits the crime...).
The OSPCA said the details were so horrific that they needed to be publicized....I won't go into detail here. Suffice to say that this jerk killed the cat and it did indeed suffer greatly. Photos were developed at a Wal Mart and OSPCA called. He gets 2 yrs probation on top of the 6 mos. in his new "gated community" and cannot possess an animal or bird for 2 years after that.... Whoopee.....I know that I feel much safer knowing that the stiff sentance will be great enough to deter this schmuck....NOT!

It seems his family isn't much better, relative gave him the cat as a present, it was his birthday This is a very evil person who went directly to jail do not pass go, no second chance, there were others at this b-day party that witnessed to whole thing, should they also not be held responsible? Pretty proud and bold to take pictures of your self doing these horrific crimes. Sick, sick young man, I think he may very well be the , hopefully he get what he deserves in jail

Wtf? He shouldn't be allowed to own ANY animal EVER. Not that they'd actually continue checking on it.

The 3 "men"who tortured Kensington the cat to death, got even a lesser sentence,I believe 2 of them got no jailtime and the"man"who did the evil deed spent maybe 2 month in jail, waiting for his trial and that was it
I'll never forget Kensington,it made me sleepless for many nights:sad: Kensington

I actually know the investigating inspector, for the past 12yrs and she is VERY, VERY dedicated to her job, she keeps her files open and SHE does follow-up her cases, she has been doing this 'job' for the past 15-20yrs, I think that itself shows you where her mind and heart are, cause you don't make big $ doing it that's for sure. Maybe WE should get out there and fight to change the laws, so she could focus her time and energy on new cases and not have to 'babysit' these F****** SICK A*******! This jerk was the big tough guy torturing a poor kitten. Now, maybe the tables will be turned on him while he serves his time. I hope that there are some really big nasty inmates serving time with him who can show him that what goes around comes around.

From another post....here's what we can and should do!
Quote:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Criminal Code in Canada: Bill C-50 The new bill moves animals out of the property section of the Criminal Code, and provides tougher punishments for killing or harming an animal, or for failing to provide adequate care. On May 16, 2005, Justice Minister Irwin Cotler reintroduced animal cruelty legislation in the House of Commons which will amend the Criminal Code. The new legislation is known as Bill C-50. Although this is the fifth time similar legislation has come before Parliament - on four previous occasions the legislation has died when elections were called. Read more (http://www.cfhs.ca/legislation/Current_information/) and find out how you can help (http://www.cfhs.ca/legislation/sample_letter_to_m_p/). Please write to the Honourable Irwin Cotler in support of Bill C-50 and write to your MP urging them to support the legislation. PASS IT ON! __________________ http://www.pitbullproject.ca
