Lost White Fluffy Dog Ottawa West ~ Dog FOUND!!

I need as much help as I can get. My neighbor lost her fur baby and is inconsolable. We have checked shelters and called vets and posted signs and walked and searched. It is deep woods and we are so scared he is lost for good. He could be miles away. Here is a copy of the add we have around town any feedback would be appreciated, my heart aches as I am an animal lover myself :

We have lost our 7 year old big fluffy white Samoyed dog. He was last seen in the Klondike rd and March Road area running into the woods at 9PM (Scared from Fireworks) on Wednesday September 7th. As of now he could be anywhere. He is about 50 pounds and can be friendly but is pretty shy when approched. He has a small black patch on his hip. He answers to Black Jack. He is very missed any sightings will help. He has a bad hip and has not eaten in several days. Bikers or hikers may spot him in the west end trails. He likes other dogs, and may approach if you are walking with one. Please help! REWARD BEING OFFERED!

He does have a collar on with tags. Please contact us if you spot him.

What a beautiful boyI hope he's found soon.
When you said white fluffy dog,I thought a small dog and worried about Coyotes, but a Samoyed is a bit bigger. Good Luck!

Thanks,
Coyotes and cars are my biggest fear for him. We have a ton of Coyotes in the woods, we hear them at night and they will attack a bigger animal if in a pack :S. We just need a sighting or anything, we are going on nothing now.

Spotting

There was a sighting (over 10 days after missing) near the Connaught firing range on March Valley Rd in Kanata. A man saw Black jack on the other side of the barbed wire fence. When he approaced him the dog ran. This was Sunday Sept 17th. We got the call on Wed Sept 21 . Spent 4 hours looking for him with no luck. (Does not help most of it is restricted gov't property).
Any advice. Should we try and find a humane trap. HELP!

Try posting the dog here if not already done so: http://petluck.ca/.

Even though it covers Montreal and surrounding area - it does not hurt to post here as well.

A humane trap is only good if you know where the dog is.

Bring another dog with you during your search. At times this flushes out the lost dog.

Best of luck to you. I have seen this posted in a few areas here in Aylmer.

Miracle doggy has been FOUND!!

We just wanted to post a happy ending update about Black Jack. He was missing for nearly 4 weeks (in and out of the dense wooded areas of Kanata) and after several sightings over a two day period and an over night stakeout, he was found at 1PM Sunday afternoon. It was like the scene from a movie. his Mom called his name and he sprinted out of the woods and nearly toppled her over, licking her and howling. After losing his way, he had finally found her and was happy that she never gave up. After many sleepless nights and hours every day searching and wondering he was reunited (and very happy to be back home). He is the exact weight and other than a dirty coat a ton of burrs he is happy and healthy. (Truly Miraculous)
This story shows how truly amazing dogs can be, and how no matter how long they are gone, they will always remember who loves them most
