stiches and cough problems

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you know that my baby Candi is at the vets right now getting spayed. I'm really nervous and i hope they call soon to tell me how things went. I also wanted to let you guys know that Candi is almost completely housetrained now. she hasn't had an accident in over 2 weeks and when we are home she gets the run of the house, she has even started to go to the door when she needs out. i'm so proud. Well thanks for letting me get my worries out.

Before you know it she will be running and playing like normal. Blaze was neutered on Tuesday, Wed morning I woke with him standing over my head with his fav ball in his month. We hurt for them more than they do I am sure, our pets sure have us wrapped around their little paws.

update

I'm sure i'm driving my vet nuts. I called them 3 times today checking in on how she is doing. They insist on keeping her over night because she is a low body fat dog and they don't handle anestesa (i know it's spelled wrong) well. when i called they said she was doing fine and was awake and alert. I'm really worried about getting her home though because i know in a couple of days she is going to want to run around and jump and i can't let her. she is a real handful of energy. the most hyper dog i have ever had. it seems like no matter how much i walk her and play with her she won't stop until i hold her and make her, then it's a struggle to wake her up lol. she was terrified when i took inside the vet, i have no idea why. she shook so violently i'm sure anyone that saw her thought she was having a sezure. i would put her down and she clawed my legs to shreds trying to get back in my arms. does anyone know if this is common for italian greyhounds? this is the first time she ever acted like that.

I wanted to let everyone know my baby is home. she is a little sore but ok. very tired but i think thats from the anastsia still wearing off. she doesn't have to have the elizabethan collar thank goodness cuz the vet said she wasn't bothering the stiches. they told me if she started to lick them to take her back and they would give me one. it was so sweet when i brought her home. it was like bj knew she was hurting and just jumped on the couch with her and cuddled her like she was his baby. right now shes asleep in bed with me. i'm afaid i might bump her while i'm sleeping but my mom keeps telling me that it's like when you have your new baby sleeping with you and your body just seems to know not to move. she says i don't move as much as i think anyway. thanks for all the suport everyone. it really helped.

took her sitiches out

well this morning i had a lovely suprise. Candi has pulled her stiches out. I believe she ate them as well because i can not find them in my bed. Luckly they were to come out today so the insicion is healed and not bleeding or anything. but of course i'm taking her to the vet this evening to have her belly checked and to talk to them about a cough she now has. the cough is what i'm worried about. she started coughing when i brought her home from the spay. I'm worried it might be kennel cough. and the only place she could have got this was at the vets because none of the dogs she is around have it. I'm also worried about our other dog getting it from her. should i seperate them or is it too late being this started 7 days ago. I also was wondering if cats can catch kennel cough from dogs? Any help would be greatly aperciated.

I also wanted to know about how long you should wait untill you take stiches out? My vet told me 14 days but the paper she sent home with me said 7 to 10. Thanks for the help.
