Herbal Stress/Anxiety Medication for cats

We have finally decided it is time to put our old cat down, he is 19 and has been sick for a while with kidney's issues and although the decision has been very difficult I think it's time before it gets worse.
We have an appt tomorrow night and one of my big stresses is that I really don't want him to have his last hour be complete stress and anxiety from travelling and change of environment. I'm going to check out petsmart and see what they have for herbal anti-stress meds but I'm wondering if anyone has used them before and have you had success?

You can try to look for Rescue Remedy.. the chances of a place like Petsmart having it are slim though, Petsmart doesn't really carry anything good.. atleast where I live. Rescue Remedy for Pets is probably your best option. You can also call up the vet and ask if you can have a sedative to crush up and put in your kitties food, they might give you a valium or ace.

Sorry about your kitty

What a tough but brave decision for you to make. My heart goes out to you.

Would it be an option to have the vet come to your house (or maybe they can refer you to someone who will)?
