What does this mean?

I noticed today that Ambre has little sticky marks coming from his eyes, like he might be crying. What does that mean, and is it normal for cats? I noticed that Little Whitey had that one time as well. Will they be all right?

It might just be allergies, or a bit of an upper respiratory infection. Keep an eye on your little one and if he gets worse, have a vet check him out.

Our JD has a chronic upper respiratory infection and his eyes are weeping continuously. I clean them off gently in the corners with a clean damp paper towel or cloth. And this is going to sound sort of goofy, but for really bad days when I can't keep up with JD's crusties, I think of something sad and rub my tears on the stains. Tears dissolve that eye gunk really well.

Hi smg680:

I happened to run across this article today and thought it might shed some light on your question.

I'm of the same thought as Hazelrunpack that it could be Upper Respiratory Infection. You will have to monitor your kitty pretty closely. If it is, hopefully it will be a light case.

One thing is keep the stress level down in the house. And something that might help too is playing with the kitten using a tangible toy that he can get his teeth into. Don't use a lazer because that will tend to stress out the cat as well, unless you follow up with a toy that it can get a hold on.
