found dog cornwall

so I stopped traffic at one of our busiest intersections saturday morning, a dog was playing peek a boo with traffic, got a few applauds and a few middle finger applauds *L* anyways, he appears to be about 18 months, border collie/X possibly st bernard?? thin but not starving skinny, intact male, so far no one has come forward and he's living quite well in our heated garage. He's a timid unsocialized dog which sort of leads me to believe he was an outside dog, he hasn't dirtied in the garage, I go out every hour to play and take him out. he's excited now to see me as opposed to being scared to see me yesterday, he's terrified to get in the car but once inside loves it, I have to lift him in, he dropped to his belly at the vets and I had to drag him in to be scanned for a chip, of course he had none. I cut burrs out of his fluffy tail. he loves my hubby. the thing is, I am going for surgery on thursday and for at least three weeks they don't even want me walking Brina, so I have to either find a rescue for him or have the spca pick him up, we are a no kill shelter. any suggestions?? idea's? I introduced him and brina , at first he was stiff and scared, and when she went to sniff him he again dropped to the ground, but not they will sort of play.

Sorry I can't help, just wanted to say, wow, nice looking boy. Good on you for coming to his rescue. I hope you get something sorted out for him.

He is just a gorgeous boy, Melinda. You're such an angel I hope you can find a rescue to take him.

Wish I was closer, although we don't really need another boy. heheh But he sure is a cutie! Glad he's getting more comfortable around Brina.

And sending along some for your surgery!

That's funny and maybe convenient! Thanks to you for helping him my friend. Did you have much trouble convincing him you were a good guy? I'm always afraid with dogs in traffic that they'll bolt into the traffic if I try to catch them. Glad this guy had more sense than that.

Melinda, Nookie does this too!!! It's SO weird
He's the only dog I've ever seen do it. He will walk in little circles, pushing snow (once in awhile he does it in the summer with dirt, but mostly in the winter) on top of it with his nose. He's very meticulous in making sure every little bit is covered

Then he just kinda prances away like he's done something amazing

Melinda, what ever happened to this boy? Did he end up going to a shelter or rescue? I sure hope he's found his way home.

sorry people, I thought I had updated this!! through BenMax I contacted a rescue I'd never heard of before, and yes, I researched them *LOL* I'm very picky with my animals, met a wonderful girl Krysta from Genesis rescue out of ottawa (mods if I'm not allowed to post the rescue could you please remove it?) her and her hubby met us halfway and Buddy adored them, no problems whatso ever and I just loved her and her hubby. He is now named Cody, will be neutured this coming week, already had his first shots, is completely housetrained and will soon be ready for adoption, oh and I'm now their "contact" for home visits in cornwall and area.
