Ariel after bath time

It now takes me 1 hour to give Ariel a bath! I guess her long is getting quite long. It's time for a visit to the groomer since the warmer weather is coming. The first couple of pics are just after blow drying and you can clearly see she has very long hair!

Doing her "paw" trick for treats.

And finally after putting her hair up so she can see better.

Does your dog actually let you blow dry her?? The vet told us that after we wash Odin we should blow dry him ALWAYS, but he won't have it!! It's not the blower he's afraid of, it's just that he is so wound up after a bath (he runs back and forth across the apartment for an hour) that we can't get him to calm down and get dried. He hates baths though.

At first Ariel was afraid of the noise the hair dryer made. But I slowly got her used to it. First was to use it to dry her paws when she came back from her walk with wet paws. Last night was actually the very first time she did not give me a hard time giving her a bath. She just sat there patiently instead of trying to jump out of the tub (laundry room tub). After her bath, I wrap her with a towel to get most of the water out then place her on top of the washing machine where I blow dry her. She has definitely mellowed out after turning 1 year. I can now cut the hair on her nose with scissors without her squirming around or it could be that she knows she doesn't have much choice and has given up.

How do you get them to allow the blowdrying???

Love the pix - I have a friend that has a couple of sh!tzuh's (spelling? - the word was replaced with **** when I posted - so I changed it) and one of them rubs his face into the ground after a bath - he is so funny! Anyway, we tried blow drying the first newf puppy we had - and that dog freaked out! She would run and hide if I was blow drying my hair or if you even picked up the dryer with her in the room. I really want to be able to dry the new puppy quickly - especially in the winter. How do I get him to let me blow dry him??? I have to say I love this website - so much good information - and really sincere pet lovers (like me)

Capone loves his baths. Goes in the tub himself and only has to be told once. He will sit there and try to lick the water when Im bathing.

But what he loves the most is getting blow dried. Even when he hasnt come from the bath and Im blow drying my hair he will sit underneath me waiting for some hot air. He also likes to rub himself against freshly sprayed perfume and if he gets a downy sheet he rubs himself all over it. I think he may be metrosexual. I mean the dog has his own cologne and almost begs for it.

Your Ariel is adorable. I love her hair and the colour. Poor girl can't imagine her life if you didn't tie her hair up. She looks like a white coloured "It".
Very sweet!
