hello i have adopted a long hair chihuahua:)

I have adopted a long hair chihuahua and i am worried that he may be sick he is coughing and gagging... he is 7yrs old i got him yesterday and all the vets are closed for Christmas... i need some opinions on what i should do please help me...

Hi Baylee - coughing and gagging could be signs of a respiratory infection....
Some vets may be open today and i would recommend trying to find one that is.
Sux that this happened at the holiday season. Good luck!!

I agree. If you adopted from a rescue or shelter it may have "kennell cough" If so and you have other dogs I would keep them sepreated until you get it looked after because "kennell cough" is contagious.

Even if you have an emerg vet your pup would really appreciate it because the gagging and coughing is no fun!
