Help! Neuter problems
I just had my 4 month old schnauzer neutered 3 days ago, everything had been fine but today I noticed some redness that wasn't there before. He has been pretty active today and yesterday . I'm concerned about infection . I don't have much experience with neuters as all my other dogs have always been fixed by rescue organizations before we got them . The only neuter incision I've ever seen was my husbands , should it go up to his pee pee???! I thought it was just the scrotum ? This is my first puppy and I'm absolutely head over heels! He has been licking it a lot and I have tried to make him stop..

Yep, you need to keep him from licking. Do you have a cone for him? If not, your vet should be able to hook you up with one.
The redness is irritation from the licking and there's a risk of infection with it. Watch it for any swelling or discharge, and make him go cold turkey on the licking... Also, it probably wouldn't hurt to limit his activity for another couple of days to minimize any swelling. The area is very vascular and it takes a while for the vessels to totally close off after a neuter. And finally, I'll warn you now that we're picture hounds here, so when he's feeling a bit more his normal self, we'd love to see some pics of more than his belly.

I don't really know what breed he is besides Angel I was told miniature schnauzer but I'm thinking not. A guy was taking him to the shelter but I scooped him. He's 4 months old very wiry hair and almost brindle in color.

Stop the licking and try a cone for sure. I slept with my dogs first few nights to make sure nothing is ripped out. (I am a very light sleeper)
