cats neck

we have no clue how it happend but we have an indoor cat that has a medium size cut on its neck (missing hair raw etc) it has gotten no worst or no better yet and it has been a week and a bit we plan on taking it to the vet tomorrow just wanted to give it a chance to get better. Just wondering if you have any idea what my be causing this.

It could be anything,but a cut,would rule out allergies...maybe he just got into a tight spot,a spot where he was not supposed to go and got hurt.
At least my cats are always trying to sqeeze into strange places
But if it's no better for a week,I probably would take him to the vet too..good luck!

One of mine got a bite from her sibling (she obviously bit too hard) and it left a really bad place on the back of her neck. It would heal, then scab over, only to start all over again, if they wrestled again.

I had to make a harness bandage for her to heal. Worked great.
