If a mixed breed is ok, then definitely look for rescues/shelters, even breed-specific rescues...you should never pay a "breeder" for a mixed breed dog (i.e. a mutt); these people are NOT ethical breeders and you are both setting yourself up for heartbreak and contributing to pet overpopulation.

If you are going to stick with a purebred dog, then expect to pay big bucks if you buy one from a reputable, ethical breeder, especially for a less common breed like the CDT.

Looking for Coton

Hi,
I am new to this forum and just saw that you were looking for a Coton. My kennel partner and I raise and breed cotons. All dogs have their health clearances (OFA patella, hips and eyes cerf) and they are conformation titled. Vi, my partner has 2 boys available. The sire was the #2 coton in the nation. He is a tri and weighs about 13lbs. The dam is the last of her bloodline out of Sweden. It is a very old bloodline dating back to some of the original dogs. She is an all white girl weighing a tiny 10lbs. Both sire and dam are Multi Champions, but the best part is their temperaments. Both are snuggle bunnies. Eventually Vi would like to take Baxter, the male and make him into a therapy dog. That is how laid back he is.

If you are interested please let me know, and I can get you in touch with Vi. The puppies are 3 weeks old, and will be available to go to their new homes the middle to the end of August. They are being trained to use a litter box for house breaking convenience.

Cheers,
Tiffany

If you notice this thread is from back in 2009. I would imagine the OP has adopted his/her dog by now.

Just curious - you don't have a waiting list of potential owners before you breed?

Given that this thread is over 1 year old it has run its course.

Thx - Marko
