Unhappy minpin can't poop

I have a 6year old min pin who is constipated,we were told to use mineral oil and it helped the first time,he has gone 4-5 days again and is howling when he tries to go,the oil is not working,any other ideas?

has the vet taken x rays to see if the intestines have become twisted? what brought about the constipation? any change in diet or activity that would account for the new problem? any new medication taken in the last couple of weeks? the constipation could very well be a symptom of something more serious. it is best to alleviate the symptoms by going after the true cause.

Thanks for responding,I got him to the vet,he had a bone stuck inside,they took it out and gave him medicine.he is back to his old self giving everyone ****..lol..thanks again
