Diet for my 3 month old Husky
Hey I just got Teeko 2 days ago and since then i've been feeding him just Raw meat, the diet so far has been as follows:
Carrots/Broccoli and chicken breast in the morning and at night. The first meal he got when he came was a little T-Bone steak, he loved it! I'm thinking of finding a local butcher so I can get chicken/beef organs to feed him for one of the meals. My question is, is supermarket meat okay? Its good for humans so why not dogs right? or Is the whole feedlot raised and steroid pumped livestock that we eat too messed up for dogs? |

The correct ratio is 5-10% organs, 10-20% bones (not weight bearing bones but bones that he can actually chew up and digest), and the balance is muscle meat. Feeding only organs for one meal will certainly cause serious stomach upset.
I definitely prefer the quality offered at local butchers and poultry shops for our dogs' meat over regular grocery stores.

We feed organs several times a week with the regular meal. We add just a bit so it doesnt affect the stsomach. Usually heats/gizzards or liver.
We feed supermarket meat as this is whats available to us in the city within a reasonable price... we have a gsd so feeding can become a bit pricey
