MedEffect Online Consultation

Health Canada is launching a new web site to assist doctors and other health care professionals (and consumers!) to report adverse effects of medications and other products. Doctors Nova Scotia and other groups I belong to is sending this url to as many people as we can to seek input. I have included the Frencg instructions following the English ones. Thx in advance! Merci!!

Here is the email I received from Health Canada:

REMINDER: MedEffect Online Consultation

Health Canada's Marketed Health Products Directorate (MHPD) is currently developing a new website, named MedEffect (MedEffet in French). MedEffect's goal is to provide centralized access to new safety information about marketed health products in an easy to find, easy to remember location. It also aims to make it as simple and efficient as possible for health professionals and consumers to complete and submit adverse reaction reports. Finally, it will help build awareness about the importance of submitting adverse reaction reports to help identify and communicate potential risks associated with certain drugs or health products.

MedEffect will serve Canadian health professionals, consumers/patients and the general public. It will reside on the new Health Canada Web site scheduled to launch later this summer.

As we prepare for the upcoming launch of MedEffect, we would like to obtain your feedback on the proposed MedEffect website, as well as on how the MedEffect program should evolve over time. We would also appreciate it if you could us help spread the word within your membership by sending them a copy of this letter, by using the "Spread The Word!" feature of the consultation website, or by creating a link from your website to the consultation website.

The bilingual online consultation website is available at the following addresses: www.healthcanada.gc.ca/medeffectconsultation <http://postsnet.com/r.html?c=508622&r=507986&t=474099741&l=1&d=8619304 9&u=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2ehealthcanada%2egc%2eca%2fme deffectconsultation&g=0&f=-1> or www.santecanada.gc.ca/consultationmedeffet <http://postsnet.com/r.html?c=508622&r=507986&t=474099741&l=1&d=8619305 0&u=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2esantecanada%2egc%2eca%2fcon sultationmedeffet&g=0&f=-1> .

The MedEffect online consultation will run until July 29th, 2005.

Please take a moment to let us know what you think! We value your input.
