Ow, that looks like a pretty nasty abscess, a prime candidate for some antibiotics. Does the cat let you handle him? If you have any polysporin/neosporin type stuff, that would be a start. I don't suppose you have liquid (colloidal) silver on hand, do you? That stuff is awesome for it's antibacterial properties.

Ya, probably best to just leave him be then until he can get to a vet. It's not worth injuring yourself over!

Owie! That looks nasty!! Poor kitty! But he's warm and has eaten, so it's been a very good day for him! Thanks for taking him in, DM.

unfortuntely I doubt i can keep him... Tho I may of in the past mistaken him for Blackie.

No kitty should be outside in this cold.

Blackie is on DD bed, Sid & Dusty on DS bed.

Diamond is lying outside bedroom door hoping to see visitor.

I Think hubby may be over indulgingat the party.. (he had a DDriver bringing him home) *sigh may have to find a spot for him till morning.

Fed and warm is a LOT more than most on a night like tonight. Perhaps by morning he'll let you put some ointment on it.
for taking him in and he knows it.

nasty Owwie indeed. That's gotta hurt. I was gonna suggest salt solution...but considering that it would hurt like heck and he's already swatting I'd just leave it till you can get him to a vet. Will definately need antibiotics. Look like it has already burst but the vet may still need to flush it out.

ur an for taking him in!

That looks nasty . I'm glad he has a nice, warm spot for tonight and that you will make sure he gets vet attention tomorrow .

DM,he looks like he is a beauty,so glad you took him inside to get warm and get some food, that's half the battle.
I just hate the thought of thousands of animals out there trying to find a spot to get warm and survive, one of the reasons I don't like winter.
Not everyone finds a DM to help them:sad:

Ow, that looks painful. DM what an you are for taking in this kitty. Without you, it would surely get terribly infected and who knows if the kitty would survive it.

That infection, this cold and no food...can't imagine he would have survived much longer on his own

DM, you are wonderful to care for him Hope it's nothing a little antibiotic can't clean up soon.

Wow did that kitty ever pick the right place to sit and wait! DM you're an earth angel for taking care of him and finding him a new furever home. Bless you Bless you. You say he has to be quaranteened, does that mean your critters were in any danger from his visit?? I'd assume they're all up to date on shots and such so probably no real risk. Hope so anyhow. Just gotta love a happy ending.

She thought it looked like a possibly another cat or even a raccoon. Hense why she took no chances in quarrateneing him. (just in case)

Iv looked for lost cat posters around & even threw a few up found cat ones Just in case.

Yeah it was the "tried to" part that had me worried. Good to hear SIL says they will be fine. I knew you were a good furbaby mommy and would have them UTD though. Poor, lucky kitty.
