Question Upset system

My dog is on k/d canned dog food for CRF. Is there any other organic food that i could give her that are low in toxins. I have tried tofu, organic carrots, soybeans, tomatoes, and coconut. She wont eat any of them. Any advice?

k/d or veggie

I am sorry if I don't have an answer for your k/d replacement (I know for cats they have better brands like Medical although they are not "holistic"). The main reason for my response is regarding the attempts to feed your dog tofu, carrots etc. Although a bit of all this may not be bad as such, feeding your dog only proteins from vegetable sources alone is not a good idea. Dogs are not like humans (and cats even less), and although part veggetable source is good and even necessary, being the sole source of food is not recommended (at least not based on what I have read and also the input from various vets I have discussed food with).

I don't know why you are trying to supplement the food when your dog is already having trouble. Most dogs have trouble digesting new things, and doing it when they're already sick is... well.. looking for trouble. JMO..

What I do know is some dogs with CRF lose their appetite or possibly the prescription diet is not agreeing, I am not sure if what you are looking for is snacks that is safe to eat or an actual diet or help with inappetance
