Yay for Tewfs! They are so sweet looking-I've never seen a Newf shaved right down before, only clipped for the summer.

I really don't think Jemma and Boo will have to share for too long-I'm sure these cuddly bears will be adopted soon.

I'm still shaking from the muscle soreness and fatigue. It took me a long time last night to figure out that they're both afraid of the dark and until I did, what work that was! Two newfs in full out panic mode... Leila even made herself sick. So then I turned on a light, and all was calm. They slept about 5 hours after that and then woke me up again to go out. Thank goodness they's housetrained.

My man's been really great about it though. He took care of them this morning so I could sleep an extra hour... He played with them outside and everybody seems to be pleasantly avoiding eachother today...

Oh, Leila is sooo sore though. Poor doggy. I guess she's not used to being up and about this much, even though, really, she's not moving all that much. Poor doggy. She needs some muscle mass...

They barely ate yesterday, and my whole house smells of medi-cal anyway, so I decided to move up the switch... They got about 3 cups today (each), and one was the Canidae lamb and rice... A little fish oil, little coconut oil and they both wolfed down their whole bowlfuls.

I have pics... Just have to download them again.

Boo looks absolutely pathetic lol. What a sad face that is.
Jemma seems to be more or less herself which is good and the newfs look oh so happy.

It's funny because the newfs ask to be pet so much (well, less today than yesterday, which is awesome), and when I go to pet Boo, I somehow expect his fur to be different, but it's pretty well the same as these shaved newfs, especially on his head. His thighs are like bunnies, and the newfs aren't there yet.

awww.. look at your beautful Boo.. WHAT a forlorn look.

Funny the newfs are afraid of the dark, Prin? That must have been rather chaotic while you were sorting out the problem..

They really must feel wonderfully revitalized, and they look so great.

Excellent photos of all the gang, so great to see!

Poor Boo - I'd say give him an Oscar but he's probably not acting. He looks so very sad. I hope he and Jemma are getting special cuddle time alone with mom and dad. They deserve it.

Hard to imagine the tewfs being afraid of the dark! Wonder where that would have come from.

I don't know if I missed something about the pooches, but they obviously were well fed (not groomed, but fed) and slept on the furniture (you go Leila), how did they end up in rescue?

What about a couple of night lights in the house? Would that help?

Well, I left one light on in the bay window last night and that seemed to do the trick. Boo was also really helpful. He slept with the tewfs all night.

I have no idea why they're afraid of the dark though. I only figured it out when I was with Pablo in the back yard and he wouldn't go on the half of the yard that's pitch black in the shadows of the deck. I couldn't drag him in there. I mean, he just sat and became a sack of potatoes and just would not move. Poor doggy. It makes it really hard to get them to go at night though. The lights outside aren't bright enough.

Ok, first movie of the Tewfs... We just went for a longish walk (long in Newf terms) and this is the drooly aftermath.

Oh, they think it might have been a divorce and both parties didn't want the doggies, so they just got put outside... But yeah, Leila knew how to use a pillow and everything. They were obviously cared for before.

Video #2, Leila playing with her kong... Not too entertaining other than the tail action.

Ok, last one... It's Pablo, bugging me as usual while I'm trying to type (last night). My "pushing Pablo away" muscles are sooooo sore today... Heavy bugger.

WOW Prin, that is a lot of dog
They look great,it must be wonderful for them to loose all that matted hair and a great home to boot.
I don't think many people would do what you are doing for these guys, not that they don't deserve,it sure is good to see them happy.
Hopefully Boo and Jemma will adjust

Thanks Chico. When we came back from our walk, my neighbor was surprised we still had all 4. She figured we'd lose one on the way for sure. I'm trying to convince her that they're great apartment dogs, but being that she's a grandmother (not that that implies anything ), I don't think she'll apply.
