Do you wash the dogs at the shelter... and charge people? Or do people bring their dogs there? I've never heard of a fund raiser like this. The shelter I volunteer at has alot of land and maybe this is something we could do if it works that well for you guys!

Hey Kathryn you could get lots of ideas from here! If you have a lot of space you could set up booth type events and have stuff like clipping nails, grooming, maybe a little fun agility type course, vets could offer reduced prices on a microchip?, doggie wash! heck how about a car wash?

Hi Kathryn,

We have the dog wash at big park next to a pet supply store (that does not sell pets, of course!!). They sponcer us with shampoo, nail clippers, etc. and tghey advertise the event in about 20 of their stores.
Our shelter does not have any land so we could not have it there!

You could have a dog wash at your shelter since you have lots a land but one of the keys to succcess is to do it in a high-visibility location: We made 2000$ more the year we switched from an industrial area to a high traffic, very dog-friendly area.

All brilliant pics of stunning dogs! Love them all. What a fun day and great for the SPCA to make a few "pennies" for a great cause. Well done.
