Tragedy on American Airlines

This is why I will never put my pets in cargo when I fly:

That is absolutely terrible.

I think the worst is that because it "was only dogs," they will probably try to ignore the incident as much as possible.

Poor little beauties

How would you travel by air with a dog larger than 10lbs. Last I checked (about 15 years ago when my mom came for a visit with her dog) to be in the cabin they had to be in a carrier that fit under the seat. I have a 20lbs Cocker Spaniel. She'd never fit in one of those tiny carriers.

They have temperature restrictions for a reason! Looks like they neglected to check the thermometer. Absolutely tragic! I hope it also turns out to be criminal neglect

Yeah I thought there were temperature restriction for a reason. There are shipment methods in which live animals can be sent in a pressurized hold, its probably more expensive but it its a one way one time trip why spare the expense.

so the pups were headed to a commercial breeding facility? Sounds like their lives would have been fun...

I'm lucky Leo is 13 lbs, he can come in the cabin with me, otherwise travelling home to NS would be a bit more complicated.

carrier with pets up to 22 lbs are accepted on West jet. Some carriers you can get are more spacious then others, I was lucky that the Sturdibag was on sale online and got that because it holds shape but is flexible to get under seats in any plane, i was really paranoid about dimensions and getting rejected.
