Dog swimming spots in Montreal?

Hello everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a place I could take my dog swimming. I have never taken him swimming; we adopted him in February. He's a year old now, and part lab, so I'm wondering if he loves water
Looking for a quiet stretch of water that starts shallow, maybe somewhere on the lakeshore?

We're in the west end, and don't mind driving a bit, but the closer the better!
