Spca cats

Here's a few pics of Midnight, Laila and Pretzel that i shot for the Montreal SPCA last week. It's heartbreaking to see all those cats, and i hope that these pics help them get adopted.

They're all beautiful kitties, marko.

We have a no-kill shelter in the county, but because they're no-kill they have only limited space for cats. I was lucky that a spot opened up so quickly for the gray cat that found us last year. I keep thinking of all the kitties left outside to fend for themselves because there isn't enough room at the shelter.

I see them everytime I go there which is almost everyday. Next to no rescues go there and help these cats as everyone is saturated. It's very sad.

Just to be more positive, I sent a friend there to adopt (even though our rescue has some). I also got a rescue to take a sweet 10 year old and I also got an 11 year old who never left my home and is now part of the 'crew'.

Also, another member here adopted one from the SPCA as well.

I just wish there was a solution to this. So many sweet ones that will fall victim and I know very well that it is the hands of the SPCA that are soiled when it does not belong to them.

How sweet. The story is the same no matter where you go. All the shelters are filled to the top. And yet people don't think it matters about fixing their cats. It's ok, kitties are cute. They'll get adopted. Yeah, and when they are no longer cute kittens they will be put out of their homes to fend for themselves. We need to find a way to get the word out.

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Marko - I know that there is some promotions that the MSPCA is doing such as the low cost spay/neuter clinic. Are they doing any educating the public whatsoever? Just curious.

Good question. I know the adoption counselors try hard to educate prospective adopters and I do know that some of the events (like the annual dogwash) help educate the public in addition to the washing. Aside from that, I'm not sure but I know who to ask and I will the next time i go in.

Me..me... I adopted a kitty from there very recently. It is so sad to see so many needing homes, just wish there was more I can do. On a positive note, just sent a co worker from my old job there to adopt 2 adult cats
